Library Cards/Fines/Fees

Applying for a Library Card

Library cards are available free of charge when a Library Card Application Form is properly filled out and verified with the required documentation. A parent or legal guardian must sign the form if the applicant is 17 years or younger. To obtain a card:

  • Go in person to your preferred library location.
  • Fill out a Library Card Application Form.
  • Provide a current government-issued photo ID (U.S., Canada, or Mexico).
  • Provide proof of current U.S. mailing address.

Either your library card or Texas ID is required for all transactions concerning library books and materials. Each registered borrower assumes full responsibility for the materials and fines charged to the card. If the application is for a child, the parent or legal guardian assumes all responsibility of the library card.  They must provide their current government issued photo ID and proof of current US mailing address.

  • Subsequent replacement card: $5.00
