San Jacinto Elementary School located within Potter County in Amarillo, Texas, specifically at 3400 West 4th, Amarillo, Texas 79106. Texas. San Jacinto is proud to announce that it became the first No Excuses University in the state of Texas in 2007. San Jacinto School Library is decorated with college in mind. The school library currently serves 60 faculty members and staff as well as 700 students between the ages of three and twelve.
The facility features an L shaped floor plan with five major categories: Easy (fiction picture books), Fiction (chapter books), Nonfiction, Biography, and Holiday. The library has six tables accommodating up to six students per table. The collection currently contains approximately 11,000 books, 400 videos and access to a dozen internet databases.
The San Jacinto Elementary School Library became a member of the Harrington Library Consortium as of August 2009. As a result the library is able to provide our patrons with resources found in much larger library systems.
The mission of the San Jacinto Elementary School Library is to provide students with appropriate materials to enrich learning and inspire acquisition of knowledge through literature. The library accomplishes this mission by complementing classroom instruction and supporting students’ educational and recreational reading needs.
